The other day I was watching television and Angel asked me
if I’m going to treat our newborn the way I treat our blog. I was confused, so she explained by asking if
I’m going to be all excited when she’s first born (the way I was when I first
started the blog, telling everyone, giving everyone the URL trying to get Face
book followers), then as she gets older slowly giving her less and less
attention (as the blog got older and I stopped writing), then finally pretend
that she doesn’t exist (basically because I never write the blog anymore). With that comment I knew it was time to write
a new blog.
Fall has come and it’s quickly going, in Indiana that means
the weather is changing, there is one thing changing in the Elzy mansion also,
Angel’s belly!! It’s grown to the point that many people have asked if she
having twins. If we are having twins
someone needs to just come get me now, maybe I’ll hire a stunt double or stand
in. She is 36 weeks currently, which means we are
getting awfully close. The days are
getting a little tougher and I thought it would be fun to recount a day in the
life of Angel Elzy
7:00 am she wakes up – she can no longer sit up normally
because of her belly, so if I’m not around she rolls over twice to the end of
the bed, lean against the wall and props herself up.
7:30 am she drives to work (yes she’s still driving and she
can still get in and out of car)
7:55am she arrives at work and punches in time clock. (Quick
bathroom break)
8:55am during recess a 2 year accidently hits her belly with
a beach ball she cocks back and throws the ball back at the kids face, already
the protective mother she it.
9:15am Just finished cleaning the classroom but knocks over
a stack of legos when she forgets she’s pregnant
10:35 am bathroom break
12:00 pm Starbucks break
12:10 pm bathroom break
2:20 pm despite being pregnant stops a 2 year old from
running in the hallway, while changing a diaper.
5:00pm Works done time to go home, bathroom break first
5:10 pm See Starbucks, fights the urge to stop
5:11 pm Decides she sold of got Starbucks and bust a U-turn
doesn’t even stop for the red light
5:15 pm bathroom break (local Starbucks)
5:16 pm Gets a Chai Tea (ask for her drink in a plain cup so
her husband doesn’t find out)
5:30 pm arrives home
5:31 pm bathroom break
6:00 pm I arrive home, and rub her belly.
6:15 pm despite her physical pains and aches she still makes
dinner daily
7:00 pm Daily argument over watching basketball or food
channel, I decide to DVR basketball because in an hour so she will be out.
9:01 pm she is falling in and out of sleep, I’m gradually
turning it to the game
9:05pm Angel is out, basketball is on
9:34 pm she finally gets up to go to bed not without hitting
the bathroom
12:12 am Angel wakes up hungry, therefore I’m waking up to
get her Apple Sauce
1:37am bathroom
break.
3:03am I wake up suddenly because I heard Angel
talking. I hear her say “this sounds
good, yes with an extra pump please.
Thanks for getting me Starbucks Matthew” (who the heck is Matthew)
4:25 am bathroom break
6:30am it starts all over again.
Well there you have it. Angel has been doing so well, I’m so proud of her. Only 4 more weeks left.
